Originating from northern Mexico, Chili con carne has become a staple in the UK and is one of our most popular dishes used by clients across the food service sector in hotels, pubs, restaurants for guest and staff meals.

Chili con carne, essentially meaning ‘chili with meat’, and is often shortened to Chili or Chilli; It’s a spicy stew containing chili peppers, meat (typically beef), tomatoes and often pinto beans or kidney beans.

Chili con carne is a great versatile meal. Easy to use on your main menu, specials board, or a regular meal for your busy team to keep them energised for their shift.

Serving Suggestions

  • With rice, and salsa
  • Baked Potato, topped with sour cream and chives
  • Bowl of Chili, this is how the Americans serve it! Might be worth a try.
  • Wrap it in a burrito or splash it over some nacho’s
  • Got any leftovers of Chili, don’t let it go to waste. Just place the Chili con carne into an oven-proof dish, whip up some mashed potato, and pipe it over the Chili.

Easy to prepare.
1. Defrost product prior to cooking.

2. Once defrosted, pour into a saucepan.

3. Bring to a simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally until piping hot.

Alternatively for Rational SCC users, reheat from frozen in steam setting for 35 minutes with full fan until piping hot.

About Mustard Foods

The Mustard Group was founded in 1974. In the nineties Mustard Catering, led by Glynn Woodin, revolutionised London’s high-end catering sector and took Mustard to the top, catering at venues across London, including The Royal Academy, The Wallace Collection and the V&A.

In the mid-2000s, the casual dining sector began to change.
