History

1974 – 2000s

The Mustard Group was founded in 1974. Led by legendary party planner Glynn Woodin, Mustard Catering revolutionised London’s high-end catering sector. He catered for celebrities, royalty, and eminent venues across London including The Royal Academy, The Wallace Collection and the V&A. Mustard catered for Lord Shackleton and the Royal Family for the very first time at the Royal Geographic Society in 1981.

2008 – 2019

In the mid-2000s the casual dining sector began to change. Growing restaurant groups needed strategic food partners with development, advisory and production facilities to support their growth. Mustard Foods started supplying a select group of London restaurants with a focus on developing and producing bespoke recipes. Led by Chef Director James Robins, Mustard has developed bespoke sauces, salsas, pie fillings and dressings for some of the UK’s favourite eateries.

2020 – 2021

During the pandemic, Mustard Foods launched the ‘At Home’ brand, supplying restaurant-quality meals directly to the public, to support the Mustard team. At the same time, Mustard partnered with non-profit organisation Critical NHS to provide piping hot meals to NHS staff on a daily basis during the COVID-19 crisis. Over an 18-month period, Mustard Foods supplied over 482 000 meals.

Mustard used this time to test and trial ready-to-serve meals which inspired the Mustard Foods Wholesale Range which now consists of over 60 frozen soups, stews, curries and sauces.
